About Me

I am a high school student in Lansing, New York. I enjoy hands-on activitys and learning about how systems and machines work. I inspire to become an engineer in this brave new world. Outside of my classes I enjoy weight lifting, snowboarding, and listening to/learning music.

Starting Early

I started to lift because of a soccer injury in 8th grade that caused me to stop playing. Slowly I fell in love with everything about it. I was holding myself accountable by setting my own goals rather than being pushed by a coach. I also liked the aspect of being able to set a routine that worked around my schedule. I soon realized that I felt ten times better on days I went to the gym than a day when I didn't go.

Injury

A broken thumb that required surgery in 2021 led to me not being able to lift. Luckily my left hand was fine so I found an activity that doubled as coping mechanism and a creative outlet. I learned how to play the guitar while my thumb healed.

Now

Now I have developed two life long skills with lifting and music that will help keep me healthy and happy throughout life.

Babe I'm Gonna Leave You

By Led Zeppelin

Guitar

Guitar was the 3rd instrument l learned, keeping with string instruments. At the time I started, 2021, I felt that guitar was a little cooler than a violin.  so I borrowed one from my grandma and learned chords and strum patterns.  Babe I'm Gonna Leave You by Led Zeppelin is my favorite song to play.

Clair De Lune

By Claude Debussy

Piano

Piano was the 4th instrument I have learned, the other 3 being guitar, violin, and mandolin. After hearing Clair de Lune for the first time I knew piano was next up to learn. I am self-taught and can now play most of Clair de Lune, among a few other songs. I'm still learning.

Snowboarding

I started snowboarding with a friend of mine who was able to lend me gear and a ride when I was 9. I found myself quicky trying to learn every trick I saw in the X Games. Snowboarding is an amazing feeling. It makes me feeling like I'm on top of the world with nothing to worry about.

Mountains

Every few years my uncles, my bother and I go on a snowboarding trip for a week to White Face, Killington and Sugarbush Mountains. From seven a.m. to five p.m. we would go every day spending only a few days at each mountain. My home mountain, Greek Peak is a lot smaller but I try to go as often as possible.
